Parlons Démocratie is an association meant to help young French people understand how democracy and institutions work. In a context where the loss of the ability to engage in dialogue, growing tensions between young people and institutions, and increasing abstention are undermining the foundations of our democracy, moral and civic education must play a key role. Unfortunately, this teaching is often disembodied and insufficiently attractive, partly because teachers are not specifically trained in these issues. Parlons Democratie brings together teachers, institutional professionals and students to ensure the success of French civic education.
The association is made up of people with experience and in-depth knowledge of public institutions who want to pass this on through dialogue, simulations of parliamentary debates, trials, testimonies… By revealing what goes on behind the scenes in the institutions, this project aims at awakening in young people a curiosity and confidence in their ability to shape the future of democracy.
