Jean Guillaume DE TOQUEVILLE
Jean-Guillaume de Tocqueville devotes a significant part of his work to promoting the intellectual legacy of Alexis de Tocqueville, notably through the Tocqueville Foundation, which he founded and currently chairs. Through the organization of the Tocqueville Conversations, he fosters a transatlantic dialogue on democracy, human rights, and philanthropy.
Jean Guillaume is a lawyer and is a member of the Paris and New York Bars. He practiced in the M&A and the banking and finance sectors for a number of years. Since January 2025, he has served as Secretary General of the High legal committee of the Paris financial center.
John ROSSANT
John Rossant is the Founder and Chairman of the New Cities Foundation (www.newcitiesfoundation.org), a major global non-profit network devoted to improving the quality of life and work in 21st century cities. Founded in 2010, the New Cities Foundation brings together private sector and public sector leaders, the research community and other non-profits and NGOs to pursue a common vision of a world where cities drive economic, social and environmental progress. Pierre D’HARCOURT
Pierre d’Harcourt, started to work at the French Ministry of Finance. He then worked in the investment banking industry and in the meantime acted as business angel. Since 2010 he managed various business in Europe and the Pacific, mostly in the food and beverage industry.He is also chairman of Group Sud-Ouest, one of the major regional media group in France, which mission statement focused on creating social link and promoting social initiative
Augustin DE ROMANET
Augustin de Romanet is a French senior civil servant and company director. A graduate of the IEP in Paris and the ENA, he has held a number of positions in the public administration as a government advisor in the Ministry of Finance and in ministerial cabinets. He joined the private sector in 1999 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Caisse des dépôts et consignations in 2007, a position he held until 2012 before taking over the management of Aéroports de Paris (ADP). He made the ADP group the world leader in airport design and operation. In 2017, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of the Domaine National de Chambord. In 2018, he became Chairman of Paris Europlace (the body responsible for promoting and developing the Paris financial centre).
Laure Mandeville
Laure Mandeville has been a senior reporter at Le Figaro for 31 years. She was the Washington bureau chief of Le Figaro from December 2008 to August 2016. Laure Mandeville joined the foreign service of Le Figaro in 1989 to cover the end of communism. She covered the post-Soviet world for 20 years. She was Moscow bureau chief from 1997 to 2000. She also covered Islam in Europe from 2001 to 2008. Laure Mandeville holds a degree in Russian and Polish languages and civilizations from the University of Toulouse, a diploma from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris and a DEA in Soviet studies. She was a visiting fellow at Harvard University, as a Fulbright and Sachs scholar. Laure Mandeville is the author of Qui est vraiment Donald Trump, Les Equateurs, 2016, of La reconquête russe, Grasset, 2008, which received the Louis Pauwels Prize and the Ailleurs Prize in 2009, as well as of L’Armée russe, la puissance en raillons, Ed n°1, 1994. She is a regular guest on C’est dans l’air, LCI and France 24. She also publishes in Politique internationale, La Revue des deux Mondes, the Wall Street Journal and The American Interest. Michael K. Hayde
Michael K. Hayde was born and raised in Compton, California. He has enjoyed and benefited from living in Southern California his entire life. In his formative years his family instilled in him traditional Irish Catholic values. He has had mentors all his life and learned at an early age the benefit of learning from those who had more experience and who were willing to help him. He went to work for Jerrold Glass at a local CPA firm and found a lifelong friend and mentor. Jerry brought him with him in 1971 to his current firm where he found two more mentors in the Founder of the firm M. Douglas and David Stone. Mike has been blessed to remain with the Western National Group for the last 48 years. Since 1994 he has served as its Chief Executive Officer.
The Western National Group is a 60 year old apartment company headquartered in Orange County. It has been an acknowledged leadership company in the industry. Mike believes in a leadership style that demands not only the best of himself, profitable operations but also corporate as well as personal community involvement. He is a member and Trustee of the Urban Land Institute and past Vice Chair of its Multi Family Silver Council as well as being a Trustee of the ULI Foundation. He is a past Chairman of the California Housing Council and active in both the National Multi Housing Council and the California Apartment Association.
Along with Orange County Sherriff, Brad Gates, he founded Drug Use is life Abuse, a nationally recognized non-profit teaching youth in Orange County about the issues of drug abuse. He has been active in fundraising for Big Brothers Big Sisters, Sisters of the Sacred Heart, Boy Scouts of Orange County, City of Hope and UCI Medical Center. Mike is a member of the United Way Ten Million Dollar Roundtable, Chairman of the United Way Worldwide Leadership Council, a member of the United Way Worldwide Board and the 2013 United Way Tocqueville Award Honoree.

Mr. O’Dowd graduated with honors from Harvard Law School, has received a Master’s Degree in Modern European History from Creighton University, and was named 1st-Team Academic All-American by USA Today while an undergraduate at Creighton. Mr. O’Dowd serves on the Leadership Council of United Way Worldwide, as well as on the Board of Directors of United Way United Kingdom, and has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade County Public School System Foundation, among other charities. Furthermore, Mr. O’Dowd has taught one course a year as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Communication for the past 24 years.

Vincent Montagne
Vincent Montagne is a major figure in the French publishing industry. He has been the president of the Média-Participations group since 1991, playing a key role in its growth, particularly in comics, children’s publishing, and specialized press. Since 2012, he has also chaired the National Publishing Syndicate (SNE), where he actively advocates for copyright protection and the fixed book pricing model. A graduate of Paris-Dauphine University, he is also president of the Dauphine Foundation and is committed to promoting culture and reading.
Bernard Cazeneuve
Bernard Cazeneuve is a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques of Bordeaux and works as a lawyer. He was an elected official in the Manche departement from 1994 to 2012, including being Member of Parliament and Mayor of Cherbourg. The French President François Hollande appointed him as Minister for European Affairs in 2012, Minister for the Budget in 2013 and Minister of the Interior in 2014. In December 2016 he was appointed as Prime Minister, a position he held until the resignation of his government on May 10th 2017. In 2017, he joined the law firm AUGUST DEBOUZY as Partner where he mainly focuses on international compliance matters.
Nicolas Baverez
Nicolas Baverez is a French lawyer, historian, and economist. A former student of the École Normale Supérieure (1980) and the École Nationale d’Administration (1988), he holds the agrégation in economic and social sciences and a doctorate in history. He began his career at the French Court of Auditors in 1988, then served as advisor to Philippe Séguin, President of the National Assembly, from 1993 to 1995.
Admitted to the Paris Bar in 1998, he has practiced in economic public law, notably at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP for 18 years before joining the law firm August Debouzy as a partner in 2023.
An influential essayist, he is the author of numerous works, including Violence and Passions (2018, Vauban Prize) and Democracies Against Authoritarian Empires (2023). A regular columnist for Le Figaro and Le Point, he sits on the steering committee of the journal Commentaire and the Institut Montaigne, where he chairs the Foreign Affairs and Defense working group
Benjamin Haddad
Benjamin Haddad currently serves as France’s Minister Delegate for European Affairs, a position he has held since September 21, 2024. Prior to joining the Atlantic Council, he was a research fellow at the Hudson Institute in Washington DC. He has advocated for transatlantic unity in the face of Russian aggression, for greater European responsibility and for European investment in strategic issues. His book “Paradise Lost: Europe in the World of Trump” argues for greater European unity in a world of new challenges and threats.
He published in Foreign Affairs, The American Interest, Foreign Policy, the Wall Street Journal, Le Monde, Le Figaro, Politique Etrangère and is a frequent guest on France 24, BFM, CBC, CNN, Fox News and NPR.
In 2017, Haddad was the Washington DC representative of Emmanuel Macron’s En Marche movement. A graduate of Sciences Po Paris, where he earned a master’s degree in international relations, and of HEC with a master’s degree in financial economics, Haddad taught international relations at Sciences Po.
He was elected member of the French Parliament for the majority party “La République en Marche” in Paris in June 2022.
Denise Campbell Bauer
Denise Campbell Bauer is an American diplomat who most recently served as the U.S. Ambassador to France and Monaco from 2022 to beginning 2025 Prior to that, Bauer was the U.S. Ambassador to Belgium during the Obama . A member of the Democratic Party, she has also served as National Finance Chair for ‘Women for Obama’ and as Executive Director of ‘Women for Biden. She is an Occidental College alumna (BA).
Dana WHITE
Dana White is a former Pentagon spokesperson and a key figure in the U.S. administration in the defense sector. She served as the Chief Pentagon spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense under the presidency of Donald Trump. White played a crucial role in managing strategic communication and public relations for the Pentagon.
Previously, she worked as a senior advisor for the United States Senate, bringing expertise in national security and foreign policy matters. Dana White is known for her ability to articulate U.S. government strategic positions on national and international defense issues.
Joshua MITCHELL
Dr. Joshua Mitchell is a professor of political theory. He has served as Chair of the Government Department and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs at Georgetown University in Qatar. From 2008 to 2010, Dr. Mitchell was Acting Chancellor of the American University of Iraq – Sulaimani. He has published articles in The Review of Politics, The Journal of Politics, The Journal of Religion, APSR, and Political Theory. His book, Tocqueville in Arabia: Dilemmas in a Democratic Age, was published by the University of Chicago Press in 2013. His next book project is titled The Gentle Seduction of Tyranny. In addition to teaching at Georgetown University, Dr. Mitchell writes on contemporary American politics. He is also a committed environmental advocate.
